Cons: easy class, fall asleep
No homework?
Has an SI
Drops one exam grade
Cons: No homework?
Expects you to go to SI to learn
A lot of students seemed to make As in my class. Although I come from a strong high school background in Chemistry, I struggled in his class. I understood the material, but his exams seemed to be intentionally tricky. (the exam key made by our si would usually have mistakes in it) When asked in class how he got to the answer on the board, He replied that he wasn't going explain, because wants you to learn from your classmates and the SI. In college, I expect to be mainly taught by a professor or a grad student, not by a fellow undergraduate.
Bonus points for never missing class
Lets you keep tests
Cons: Terrible teacher
No homework to improve grade
Young is an OK teacher if you're good at chemistry, but terrible if you are actually trying to learn. He doesn't use any homework tools, so your grade is entirely based on your tests, which aren't terrible, but hard if you haven't learned anything. He had a great SI instructor when I had him which was really the only way I passed the class. If you like teaching yourself, take him. Otherwise avoid him at all costs.
Cons: Didn't explain material very well in class. If you couldn't make SI sessions or didn't have AP Chem in High School, you might get lost.
Cons: is not organized when teaching..wastes too much time going on tangents about pointless stuff.. really monotone when lecturing and doesnt explain thoroughly.
Cons: If you really want to learn chemistry, don't take him.
Cons: boring
monotone
goes off on random stories
He gives 10 extra points if you don't miss a lecture. 5 if you miss one.
Cons: He isn't specific about what is going to be on exams.
He's an ok teacher and a funny guy.
Cons: i hated this class, he doesnt give notes, or if he does they made no sense
be ready to study alot
Cons: He doesn't teach well
As long as you can read the book you'll be fine.
